The Magical Fruit

July 13 is International Farfelonus Day. If you're like me and you didn't know what this meant, well, you're going to want to check it out. You'll be glad you did.

It is with a heavy heart that I realize I must shut down some of my websites. After much soul-searching, I have decided that first on the chopping block is Hyperion Rants. Come Monday 'twill be no more.

I'd like to say there are lofty reasons behind my decision, but the main one is because my voice is awful. Every time I hear it I want to quit speaking forever. In fact, I may do that very soon now.

As proof, several weeks ago I recorded some poetry. I was talked out of posting it, but since Hyperion Rants is going out of business, I might as well.

Here's the first one (a poem):

This next one has been my favorite poem for years, The Hollow Men, by T.S. Eliot. I destroy his meaning, but what can I say? I have a voice meant for deaf mutes (although, in my defense, the hesitations at the end are all legitimate attempts to get the poem's meaning down. If you want to follow along, I've set up Eliot's poem to open up in another window.

(And check out the other Rants if you get the chance.)

We continue our look at the best movies of 1995.

Read Part 1

Can you guess which movies will be #10 - #6?

Alligator Pit contemplates rude people, while Monkey Barn gets ready for a giant overhaul.

See you tomorrow!
