There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all.
-Peter F. Drucker

A man is not idle because he is absorbed in thought. There is visible labor and there is invisible labor.

With this Labor Day Weekend, I thought I would celebrate by saving some Labor of my own. After all, what is the point of having almost 1.9 million words in the Archives if you can't use them every once in awhile?

With Summer unofficially ending this weekend, I thought you'd like to know the Top Ten Songs with Summer in the Title

For reasons I'm not going to describe, I felt you needed to know the Top Ten Foods that Begin with the Letter P

And in Case you're having a sing-along, you definitely will want to be aware of the Top Ten Disney Songs...Ever!

But maybe you're going to watch a movie with your family? What better way to spend Labor Day than to focus on the Labor others do for us?

Honor out maids and janitors in the spectacular DIRTY PRETTY THINGS

Respect the people who bring us our food in WAITING (review on Hyperion-X, so no children allowed)

Pay tribute to the people who bring us out Sports Highlights each night in SPORTSNIGHT

And if you're into that sort of thing, you could even give props to the women who service our husbands in THE RANCH and the people who then kill those husbands for doing so in MONSTER.

Maybe you are not into movies, and you need a story about people trying to work out a Labor dispute. If so, I would point you to Just Like That, but bear in mind; it's Hyperion After Dark, so try not to blush.

There you go. Something for everyone. Hopefully this gives you a great Labor Day. May Herakleia keep you safe, and I will see you soon.
