More the Fool, I

XXXI Days of Poetry - Day the Fifth

More the Fool, I

More the Fool, I -
to seek Honor
from the Past,
half-crazed delirium,
raw, gaping wound,
jangled nerve of
miasmatic memory;
treasure-map buried pain,
waiting to be discovered
and plundered, dug up
by a rapacious Future,
not believing until
it's all-too-late that
the Curse was real,
and some things are
better left in the ground.
